About Us
J: Block 7 Collective (Formerly Block 7 Antiquers) started as a way to give back to our community of artists. Our story together begins in Spitalfields Market where Ahmad and I worked at a vintage camera shop during our final year abroad, learning the ropes around all sorts of cameras without being paid to do so.
A: purely for the love of the game, at the shop I handled the Film Camera affairs, and I definitely got paid in cameras, I just don’t think the store owner liked Jasser much to pay him.
J: He definitely liked me and thats irrelevant.

J: during our time there Nicholas kept urging us to set up shop in Kuwait. At the time (speaking for myself here) I didn't think it was as plausible as he was making it out to be…
A: it was very much plausible. In November 2024 i collected a small selection of Film and Digital cameras and joined Studio Khemiae at one of the markets held here. And after that it became very obvious what could be achieved. That same night i called Jasser who was in London to grab a haul of cameras so we can start work on this.
J: That night Block 7 was born.
